Directions
Pre-Treatment:
- Ensure that all equipment in your spa or tub is functioning properly.
- Follow the manufacturer's directions to backwash or clean the filter system.
- Adjust the pH of the water to a range between 7.2 and 7.6.
- When using other products as outlined in the directions for this product, always follow the specific instructions provided for those products.
- It is recommended to drain and clean your spa every 60 days or whenever the water becomes difficult to manage or keep clear.
- Avoid using oils, salts, and lotions unless they are specifically formulated for use in spas and hot tubs to prevent cloudy water.
Routine Maintenance:
- With the pump running, add 1/2 teaspoon of this product per 100 gallons of water as an initial treatment.
- Repeat this process at 15 to 20-minute intervals until a residual chlorine level of 3-5 ppm (parts per million) is established, as determined by a test kit.
- Regularly use a test kit to determine the frequency of additional doses required to maintain the desired chlorine residual of 3-5 ppm.
Superchlorination:
- Use 1 teaspoon of this product per 100 gallons of water for superchlorination.
- Depending on the spa usage, superchlorination may be needed on a nightly basis for heavily used spas or as infrequently as once a week for moderately used spas.
Dosage
Routine Maintenance:
1/2 tsp per 100 gallons of water repeated every 15 minutes until chlorine residual of 3-5 ppm is achieved.
Super Chlorination:
1 tsp per 100 gallons of water.
